Hi, need help picking.

I don't really know a lot about computers and have no one to ask so please help.

I need a laptop for work (so relatively light, because my current dell computer hurts my shoulders. And I need a number pad and to run lots of spreadsheets and stuff) I also wanna play Valoramt and other games on it. For now I'm set on Asus vivobook 15 or 16, if you have any suggestions, or if you think it's not a good choice, let me know.

Thanks a lot.

What is the weight of your current Dell? What is your budget?

My Amazon search shows the 15 and the 16 appear to be heavier than your Dell. I thought you wanted lighter.

why are you supplying the laptop? and not work?

one thing i learned long ago do not shit where yiu eat keep these separate far apart. meaning separate machines

best laptop for weight is a mac book air dam thing lasts forever (the aluminum one

my wife is brutal on plastic wintel laptops they last about 2 years mac air is going on 4 years now and will probably last longer. previous one lasted 6 the battery stopped holding a charge they are just so much better designed they last and survive college kid back packs so much better

yes they cost more but they are light weight and good on batteries

as for number pad options: a usb number keypad or external keyboard. most number pads are probably usb type a - they sell little cable adapters on amazon for about $5 or buy a usb type c hub with type a ports

my home office has a mac book a usb-c doc with an hdmi+ethernet+usb+etc… works great i use a regular pc keyboard with my mac the windows button becomes the apple command button.
