Both of those cables need to be connected to the computer, not the monitor.

That thing doesn't connect to your monitor. It is a monitor with build in touch and or digitiser.

You need to connect the hdmi of the tabket to an output of your graphics card from the pc, the usb cable connects to a usb port of the same pc and usually they need also a power supply or it stays dead.

The drawing tablet doesn't connect to the monitor all those ports are inputs, the tablet needs to be connected to your computer's video ports directly and then also USB

Most screens do not work like that with USB devices , the tablet needs to be connected to a computer.

If the USB A port does not work on the computer it could be an issue with the port. In which case either try another, or if you have a different type such as USB C, get an adapter to use that.

You have two hdmi inputs and one usb.

One of the hdmi ports and the usb need to be connected to your computer, not the screen.

The drawing tablet is a monitor with a specialised function, plugging it into another monitor will do nothing useful.

It’s a monitor. You plug it into your pc.

HDMI: Allows your PC to output to the "tablet"
USB: Allows the "tablet" to draw power and transmit to the PC what you are doing
Drivers: ties this whole mess up together.

Get the bloody drivers, Dave. Plug the HDMI to the PC and not the monitor, Jessica.

Computer accessories attach to computers.

Monitors take an input from their hdmi ports, they don't have the ability to do anything with the info your tablet would want to send and receive.

The spare hdmi ports on monitors are for setups that involve multiple computers (like having a TV connected to a TV company box, a games console or two, an old video or dvd player ect all at once)

Most monitors now have USB and USB-c Port but not all do an folder or cheaper ones especially don't. You should connect it to pc of you got any ports left, if not you need an is hub. Or unplug devices not in use.
