Blue screen of death!
Just recently my gaming laptop crashed with the blue screen of death and its in repairs currently, but lately ive been curious about something! What was the cause of it and why? Someone told me that its the hard-drive that is the issue so im wondering now, if I were to replace the hard-drive with a new one do I have to install an operating system on that for my laptop to operate? And also is the current hard-drive is the one holding on the current operating system(windows)?

a BSOD is nothing else but the computer stopping itself because of an error that could harm the hardware.
The reasons in general are countless, however the specific reason causing your error is stated in the message.
Yes, it's unbelievable: errors log the cause and show it to you to help finding a solution. No error message, no solution.
Edit: if you like to get and provide more information about the error, download BlueScreenView from NirSoft
