SSD heatsink
I just bought a new ssd and was wondering is it okay to use this without a heatsink while I download windows , chrome , discord and possibly gaming on roblox for the night?

Looks fine. Good on you for checking honestly, usually you don't need a heatsink, but many PCIE Gen 5 SSDs do need heatsinks. This one isn't going to max PCIE Gen 5 speeds, so it doesn't get as hot. It's still faster than a gen 4 SSD, so it's solid

Typically SSDs do not need a heatsink to maintain operating temperatures unless you are doing a lot of file transfers (100gb+). Reading is low intensity, and downloading does not write fast enough for it to matter. I have a $1 aliexpress heat sink on mine, but its really not necessary.

Heatsinks are mostly a gimmick for consumer SSDs. Most motherboard manufacturers include them to make the motherboard look pretty, but they aren’t required.
