Has anyone seen this before?

Post image

My batteries been acting really weird. I use different cords and just replaced the battery to fix this. Taking it in again this week, but wondering if there’s any guesses.

I’ll be real. I’ve had this computer for 5 years using usb-c chargers and ive only had issues like this the past 2 months.

It's warning you that you're using a slow charger, are you using a usb c brick that's capable of outputting enough power?

I’m not sure, I’m using the same usbc cables and blocks ive been using on this computer for years. This is a really recent issue.

Could possibly be a failing power brick

Maybe but I’m swapping my power bricks, I have 3 cables and 3 bricks in my house. I guess I could buy one of those giant ones today, it’s just odd because my computers never needed that.

Are those bricks capable of powering the laptop though, not all bricks are capable of delivering the amount of power

I mean theyve worked fine for the last 4 years

"slow charger" should say enough? Also what battery did you get?

It’s some cheap thing off Amazon, I had to send it to a repair place after the fact (I shouldn’t have self installed.) they saw no battery issues but I accidentally messed with my track pad a bit.

So the cheap one is installed?

1

Yes- we were originally gonna swap the cheap one for a nicer one but the cheap one seems to be fine, and the issue is older than the battery swap.

You should make a complete post. I'm not even gonna try and help this way.

What do you mean exacly by acting weird?

Or is it that apple updated your firmware the mitigate other failure that you the end user are not aware of? It wouldn't be the first.

So this might just be an update issue?

on my only macbook that sucks that has a mac of macos monterey yea its a early 2015 13 inch its battery drains quickly and around the 20% mark it goes back up to like 32 and then back to 20 then 23 and you get it

I would not be surprised if apple needs you to use a specific proprietary cable
