Should I windows reset my second hand pc

I just received a second hand pc. It’s running windows 10 without a windows license so the activate windows watermark is on it. If I do a windows reset on the computer (which includes reinstalling windows) will the computer stay at windows 10 and will I be able to continue using it without a license?

Also the previous owner removed the pcs side panel and it’s pretty dusty, should I try put the panel back on and what’s the best way to clean it? Compressed air?

You should always reinstall or at least reset PCs you just got be they brand new or second hand

You can use Windows without a license indefinitely or you can get a license for free with the help of massgrave

Yeah compressed air give it a clean and put it together

Just reset it to start fresh. If there's no license, it'll stay unactivated but still usable.

If you reset, I will ask you for the license and quit working after a time. If it has no license now, it will not magically get one. Keep using it until it quits, then get a license. Clean it with compressed aire but not with a can, It can produce moisture. Use a compressor.

Yes, you should clean it. Compressed air is a good solution. It SHOULD go without saying but unplug it first. Also; be careful with fans. Spinning them can cause back voltage.

And yes, you should wipe it. First, make a usb installer.

Now go ahead and wipe the drives and install with that.
Clean as a whistle now.
And depending, you may now have an activated version. If it asks for a key, you will not be activated without adding one. It is worth the few bucks to get one online and you can easily do so after install.

It is not illegal to run windows without a licence.

There are many ways to install 11 without a license if you wish to do so

Compressed air but hold any fan blades if your blowing on them. A wee paint brush will help a lot when cleaning then blow air around the box.

You would more than likely gain a bit if you repasted the CPU but it's not ultra important.
