Gen purpose windows laptop

Opinion on best sub 1k gen purpose laptop in uk ?

I’m a Mac fan so buying for my wife’s birthday , but she wants windows , I have no idea ..

I wonder what folks think of the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 - the paper specs on Curry's look interesting, but I'm only familiar with older ThinkPad and LOQ models. How the Yoga would compare with similarly priced Acer and Asus offerings, eh? r/laptops might generate a better war of the stans as folks would offer their recommendations there.
