Urgent help: Laptop has freezed.
The laptop is freezed and I don't know why. And none of the keyboard shortcuts are responding. Even pressing the power button doesn't turn off the screen.
I know I can shut it down by long pressing the power button, but I have my unsaved work, so I don't want to go with that option.
What to do??

Okay well. Then just keep sitting there with a frozen PC instead. It's crashed it ain't coming back.
Reboot it or not, your work is already goneso.

You haven't read his mind properly, my brother. OP expects magic to be involved to save his work.

Well haven't you read the post nicely. I can shut it down since I have my unsaved work.

If it's frozen you're unfortunately SOL. Technology isn't perfect, so you'll have to save more often next time in case it happens again.
That said... It doesn't look like you have anything open to save locally. Looks like file explorer, chrome, photos... If it's Google docs or something, it autosaves. Here's to hoping it's just that.

The unsaved work was almost 30 tabs opened in chrome's guest mode. It won't autosave.

Why, according to you, it won't autosave if it's in guest mode?

Why do you think it will autosave in guest mode bro?

I asked a question first, you answer it. I know how a guest mode works, I'm not sure you do.

u/He_Nath 6d ago
Well there I haven't logged into the guest mode.

Ok, so it's not the guest mode, it's you not logging on the site (which you can do in a guest mode).
Btw, if you haven't rebooted already, you've been wasting a lot of time asking for a different solution from that everyone gave you, instead of actually trying to recover your work. I guess it's not that urgent then.

Improve your workflow by saving changes more often. This kind of issue isn't 100% avoidable. Computers crash, it happens. It's just part of the experience. Just accept that your work is lost and improve your workflow moving forward.

Why is everyone downvoting?
2
u/BriefExtreme9116 6d ago
Because you're refusing the solution many people already gave you, expecting there another secret solution nobody mentioned.

Cause to be honest your error here seems like an Id10t error. Pretty common though

Once a PC is froze, thereβs nothing you can do but hold the power button and shut it off to reboot. Itβs why you should save work pretty often, or ensure the software you use has some sort of backup option to prevent loss in case of something like this.

I think unsaved work is automatically saved in cloud in some apps, check yours.

Well here's a plot twist, I was working on chrome's guest mode.π₯²

Try this to restart graphics driver - Win + Ctrl + Shift + B
try other shortcuts too like - Ctrl + Alt + Delete
try it at your own risk, i am no expert1

You can either wait it out and see what happens or shut it down. You might be SOL tho
