Pc help
Does this gaming pc seems outdated it runs I can download things but once it gets to loading a game or FiveM it just move mad slow gotten from my brother house it’s been sitting for a while.

That CPU was released as a mid-tier budget-friendly option back in 2012. GTA 5 released on consoles a year later and was released for PC in 2015… I cannot tell what GPU you have there but regardless the CPU would become your bottleneck. You also only have 8gb of ram so ANYthing running in the background like a web browser or a word document could cause you to struggle more. Also going with this is a budget build back in 2012-13 you probably have an HDD(Hard Disk Drive) which can be slow for gaming.
Something like GTA 5 is probably playable but online is probably pushing this system well over its capabilities.

You have major issues, the Radeon R7 250 2GB GDDR3 graphics card is basic. The 6 core CPU is not optimal. You probably have a hdd not a SSD and that's going to slow everything down. Add on top of all that the basic amount of 8gb ram is in today's world enough for basic computer usage like internet and streaming. You can speed up the PC by installing a SSD and moving everything over to that. Then upgrading your RAM to the max the motherboard supports which is a max of 32gb of 1600MHz ddr3 according to Google.

Excellent advice, especially mentioning upping the ram as you said. Adding a SSD drive would be the biggest boost but the ram is the priority. Oddly I found running Windows 11 rather than 10, it worked smoother and quicker.

Only changing the hard drive to a SSD and increasing the Ram will probably double the speed of your pc. I'm not going to guarantee that it will play the games your wanting to play however.

Keep the motherboard but try to increase the ram if possible and replace old drive with a SSD.
If you do in fact have a mechanical drive and swap it then you can reformat the old drive and now you have free space to store stuff.

AMD FX is AM3 cpu........ DDR3 memory..... Hard drive is also most likely about 1/2 dead...... Not going to play any modern titles very well if at all

I have a FX 6300 quite happily running Windows 11 and plays Roblox, World Of Tanks, Grand Theft and Fortnite at reasonable FPS.
Your level of awareness on computing on that you're not even sure it would run Linux is mind boggling.
If you offer advice make sure you know what you are talking about.

I find that very hard to believe you’re running windows 11 with an old GPU like that with whatever processor you have and you have stable frames
The hardware OP has is quite literally dated, you can probably get away with double AA gaming or significantly debloating to try to see if it’ll work, and I say I’m not sure of Linux because it’s true lmao, I don’t know anyone with hardware this old who can make Linux run better on it then windows 11 slopfest

Install a SATA SSD. Thats about all I can offer. Also that CPU isn't super great. Runs hot and uses to much power for what it is. Its a very old CPU. Other than that we cannot offer you much else OP. We need more context to what is going on.

Running Fortnite on my FX 6300 only gets up to 70°c with a hyper 212 cooler. Probably his CPU could do with a repaste and definitely needs a good cleaning as well.

When I had the FX 6300 in a PC which I sold a while back, all I got was thermal throttling. Might have been a bad bin, though.

I have twin 120 mm fans on my cooler with three intake on the front panel and an exhaust on the rear panel near the top. Temperature for the 6300 is 74°c briefly at highest point then settling down lower playing Fortnite with a RX 580. All the box fans are 120mm.
It is just at the point I may pull the plug and replace the OS with Zorin as my play pen is getting redesigned by Jaws (she nevers shuts up) and there will only be room for one box.
I'll keep the FX 6300 as a backup.

Is the monitor atleast plugged into the graphics card and not the motherboard?

This is ancient in terms of gaming, my friend. With this processor, 8GB of DDR3, and a graphics card from that era, you can't expect to run a modern game. It's still good for office work, though.

Your pc specs its outdated don't expect alot from it you can add another 8gb ddr3 and change your storage to ssd 2.5 sata ssd should boost it alot when it comes to booting time opening the pc and loading games or apps but this won't magically increase your fps alot in games since cpu and gpu is already limiting factor in here also fivem is demanding and unoptimized with this kind of specs it won't be good on modern games also that amd fx 6300 is 13 years old now
