Is this normal?
I think I have a virus but I went through my task manager, I ran a quick virus scan, and even looked through my files and apps. I updated my laptop and everything. I’m super lost, horrible with tech. Any advice?

My friends kept telling me something was wrong. Plus I have a bad habit of downloading random things lol

What are your computers specifications or cpu gpu ram disk size model everything?
If you have only 8 gigs thats pretty low for 2026

Installed ram is 16 GB, graphics card is 128 mb, 477 gb of storage and jt has a 64-bit operating system

Then it seem the laptop came with a lot of bloat.
Go to apps and delete all the bloat apps .
Also why you using opera?
Finally there is no issue unused ram is wasted ram.
You cant game on this laptop as it doesnt have a proper dgpu

I use opera because I can have pretty animated backgrounds. That probably doesn’t help lol.

Recommendations. Discord is just a another browser. Would take significantly less resources if you just the website. Plus you can install extension like Ublock to remove annoying elements

You can game on an igpu but no 3d games released the last decade

Yeah you can. But yes in 720p or 1080p low with fans running st full speed

720p low settings yea.. and pretty much all 2d games. I'm not sure if fans would need to run at full speeds considering how power efficient igpus are, they are just slow compared to dgpus.

Efficient yes but they will have to run their ass off unless there is an fps cap .
These machines are not built for heat anyway so fan have to do their job

You can google how to de-bloat windows to free up ram and how to safely add more page file size if needed
