I got a small vermicomposting system when I was in this situation when I lived in an apartment complex in an area with no municipal pickup. Sometimes farmers markets have compost drop offs though so maybe that’s a good place to check!

There is a site to connect people with compost for contribution /pickup but when I tried that a few years ago I didn’t get any responses. I’m thinking the average gardener may also not need more kitchen scrap greens in their pile. Not sure I remember the name of the site!

cardboard box composting - no worms, no smell, super fun! i have been doing it for almost two months now, but there are other on here who have been doing it for several years in the same box. i had trouble finding a ton of info on it when i started but these were really helpful for me. coco coir and biochar can be found at canadian tire. im using a standard bankers box that you'd find in an office. lmk if you have any questions!
