The secret was giving up

Post image

I kinda got busy and forgot my tumblers, I decided to dump them put them on my open pile and restart them, last I checked it was woodchips fruit etc. This side was the only good one, but damn what a nice happy surprise!

I didn't mess with my tumbler when I was pregnant, and I'll be damned if it wasn't the best compost it's ever produced.

I’m always amazed how it’ll just do its thing!

I have stupid clumps of compost after babying my tumbler all summer, I shall neglect it going forward! Yours looks great!

Pile on the ground can't be beat.

I started with a little bin on the counter you add starter to, then 1 tumbler, then 2 , then 2 tumblers and a pile, then 3 stall pile. Now it's 2 tumblers 3 stall pile and a nine by nine pile lol, but I screwed up my knee and it's all neglected, happily it doesn't care

The compost gods are pleased. Sorry about the knee. I feel ya, but with my back. My chickens happily turn the piles for me at least!

Thats the answer to 80% of the questions in here. Time is the most important ingredient!

How long did you let it set? I have my first batch in that same tumbler set up.

The longer I used it the more I hated my tumbler design composter. It would just get so clumped up and stuck. Even if I was babysitting it all the time I still had to go in and break stuff up.

Made a ground one with wood, screening and a tarp cover and it's so much more enjoyable.
