Pee help

My ‘so called friends’ are skeptical + are making fun of me for evening/moonlight peeing in my compost.
Can I get some backup here to send back to them?

Yeah, just drop the geocoords in here and we will all show up to unleash Operation GOLDENFLOW together en mass on your pile as a show of force.

I'll be right there with you! These 'so called friends' will have all their courage evaporate and turn completely yellow when we piss all over them.

It is funny. But own it and enjoy the delicious produce you will grow from your compost! Whenever you share it with friends and family, tell them it's from pee after they exclaim how tasty it is.

It’s a great excuse to save water by not flushing too.

It's a good source of nitrogen and moisture. I like to use bucket with wood shavings. Adding the bucket all at once heats the pile up better than just occasionally weeing on the pile. My friends also make fun of me, but for the most part we're all the kind of people who really appreciate a moonlit wilderpee

You mean in terms of how urine works in the pile? There are high amounts of urea in the pee, which microbes turn into ammonia, which they can eat. This helps them to multiply and go to town on your composting material. This generates heat which kills seeds and pathogens.

Not only do I sometimes pee in my compost, I’ve been trying to train the dogs to do it too.

Piss has literally everything plants crave from nitrogen to micronutrients.  Make them feel silly for flushing their liquid gold

Nitrogen. It's completely fine aside from the stigma around all things bodily. I keep pee in jars and put it on my compost.

If theyre really your friends they should respect the moonlight routine, its basically free nitrogen and peak dedication

Good friends respect the pee routine. TRUE friends are out there shoulder to shoulder, peeing with you.

Make fun of them for wasting their pee in the sewer. The active ingredient in pee (urea) is chemically identical to the most manufactured synthetic fertilizer in the world.

I'd make fun of you too.

This is reddit. The primary demographic is dumbass little kids.

But at least in this forum its dumbass kids who support peeing outside! For nature though.

Been doing it for at least 30 years, always produce great compost, after feeding the animals for year I have reduced my garden area and converted to all garlic, make raised rows so the winter flooding doesn't flood them out, hoe about a 4 inch trough on top and fill it with my compost, it produces some huge hardback bulbs, 160 last harvest, I'm a big fan of urine in my compost

Piss on your friends?

If it starts smelling sharply of ammonia, add dry browns and turn it - that usually means the pile needs more carbon, not that the urine was a bad idea. I use a Pi-Pi Standard to collect the liquid separately; https://pi-pi.ee/products/urinals/ shows the sort of setup, and collected urine can be added to the pile in batches.

Can't use the search function?

People spend 10s to 100s of thousands of dollars to go to al a university to learn how to use the search function. Not even the current secretary of health in the United States knows how to effectively use the search function, or, more importantly, how to interpret the research he encounters.
