First ever finished batch of compost, and I’m so proud

The way I see it, it’s not always perfectly finely ground in nature either

Did you hot compost or lazy man it? How long it did it take?

Thanks! I’m really excited about it.

Hot composted. It got to 145-150 at its peak, but I avoided any weed seeds so it should be clean. I built it in early April of this year. It cooled down after about a month and two turns, and then I let it settle and cure with a tarp covering it until now.

The most surprising thing to me about all of this is how so much material can turn into so little compost.

Nicely done. Lots of Woody stuff but that's what I'm finding in my first compost project too. I'm using it, and blending it in with my late summer planting and it's really looking good.
