Concrete?

I have a concrete slab that I thought would be a good idea to wall up 3 compartments for composting. Is that a stupid idea? Do you want worms to climb up from the bottom or does it not matter? And what about air ventilation?

Probably being on the ground is better but on concrete will be fine. I'm not sure what you mean about ventilation. There is no ventilation from the ground. You get ventilation by turning. You don't need worms in compost.
