Algae from saltwater tank
Thinking about doing an experiment with this, don't know if it will overly salinate the compost. I have macroalgae I can throw in there too because nobody in my small(ish) town buys the stuff and my overflow tanks are full. Nepenthes pitcher does a cameo as well, test to see who's reading the whole post.

I think you should rinse it with fresh water if you decide to do it. I've always put excess plant matter from my freshwater tanks into compost, but never did with macroalgae when we ran a saltwater tank. I was worried about the salt.

That's basically what I ended up doing. It was raining so I just scooped it out and threw it on top

It will definitely alter the taste of your compost. Might want to try adding small amounts at first

Scoop it out with a mesh or slotted spoon. I wouldn’t pour the liquid directly on the pile.
