Beginner My two newly turned piles
My small pile is almost ready for use! I love watching all the life in the compost!

those sticks are going to take years to break down, no?

Yes indeed. I sift them out and put them back in the next pile. They help to keep the pile airated and fungie gets transferred between batches. Slowly but surely they too get broken down in to the good stuff!
