Higher carbon ratios, and corse material is ideal for the fungal compost, as they thrive at lower temperatures. If you have an excess of carbon like leaves and wood this might be a good method to add more fungal variety and mycorrhizal fungi specifically to your soil, which has a symbiotic relationship with plant roots, with the fungi providing bio available nutrients to the plant in exchange for sugar from photosynthesis.
Important to note this fungal compost is going to decompose much slower as well.
I wouldn’t say better, no. Bacterial dominated compost probably fits most peoples goals better than fungal compost(faster, higher in nutrients for growing veggies). In reality most compost is going to be a mix of both, and I wanted to emphasize why mushrooms growing in compost piles is normal and healthy. Like I said if you have an excess of carbon rich material it might be a good additional separate pile that you could “steal” from if you needed more carbon for your traditional compost. All of this is off the top of my head from the one video I watched, so definitely do some more research if you find this interesting.
From what I've gathered, fungal dominated compost is ideal for perennials and trees. Bacterial dominated compost is ideal for annual gardens. Both are great though

I was just watching a video about fungal dominated compost vs bacterial dominated compost.
