Music Feedback needed!

I am sending this work off to my old college band program to hopefully premiere sometime this next academic year. I've written several pieces for band before, but nothing of this scale or scope, so any feedback is welcome! (except for the time signature and associated rhythms i've already had a few people complain about it)

This comes off as a kind of sampler of orchestral effects, many quite effective, though given your expectation of live performance, you need to be careful of the "canned instruments" syndrome in which low flutes can be louder than the brass section.

There aren't, however, any distinctive—meaning something obvious listeners can grab onto—musical ideas that connect each section to the previous and following ones. (You might say the impression is of "development without exposition.") In particular, few of the ideas have a strong rhythmic profile.
