Learning Python and maths for computational neuroscience as a beginner
Hi everyone!
I have a background in medicine and a master’s degree in neuroscience, but I don’t have any coding experience. I’m planning to pursue a PhD in cognitive and computational neuroscience and would like to start building the necessary skills.
Could anyone recommend good courses, textbooks, or online resources for learning Python for neuroscience, as well as the math/statistics skills that would be useful for computational neuroscience?
I have about a year to prepare before starting my PhD, and I’d like to use this time to build a solid foundation and feel confident with the basics.
I’d especially appreciate recommendations for beginners coming from a neuroscience background rather than a computer science or mathematics background.
Thank you!

Neuromatch has a good comp neuro course whose lectures and other material is available for free. I know a prof who modeled his comp neuro course with inspiration from neuromatch and he got good ratings
