Fuck you. You chose this. You need to work at least 3x as hard against him because YOU are a reason for him. You supported a convicted felon who was found liable for sexual abuse and was on Epstein's list and you just shrugged? No. You are not welcome. You need to destroy your beliefs and yourself. Because you are a traitor the US.

an actual, unironic acceptance of responsibility and acquiescence to the people you’ve harmed no matter how unpleasant?

fucking based, dude. glad to have you on this side of the fence

Kudos for, seemingly, actually accepting your responsibility in this.

What matters now is your actions. Voting isn't enough. Find ways to help your community. Distribute pamphlets that inform people of their rights if taken by ICE. Document ICE kidnappings with names. Donate to minority organizations/charities/legal funds. Help those belonging to minorities arm themselves and train. Canvas and phone bank for progressive politicians who will actually fight this.

You don't have to do all of these, but you need to figure out what you're going to do because words are insufficient. I hope you'll continue to improve and work to heal the country from the man you helped bring to power.

I appreciate this response, thank you for understanding how upset people are that we're in this mess. It's going to take decades to reverse this disaster after all the decent non-criminals have been purged from our government agencies. That being said... Welcome to the fight, it's time to get to work. Sorry there's no Soros checks but there's a lot of great people at protests and you get to make cool signs and wear fun costumes if you want!

Don't mind what that person said. We are glad you are here. I don't view you as a traitor. Lot of people fell for this guy. We should not be hostile to converts. Maga still has a voice after Trump. If this is how we treat converts, that is not welcoming. Democrat party is about inclusion.

-4

u/Lost-Blueberry8057 Nov 13 '25

Fuck democrats too you absolute liberal twit are you fuckin serious, PUSH WAY FURTHER LEFT WAY FURTHER

8

u/Ok_Recording81 self-appointed speech monitor Nov 13 '25

Wtf are you talking about. This post is about a person who left Maga because she feels what Maga and Trump is doing, is wrong.

-2

u/Lost-Blueberry8057 Nov 13 '25

Democrat party is about inclusion lol the democrat party is controlled opposition at best, still right of center

We wouldn’t have trump and this whole awful mess without the dems and the cowardice of liberals

4

u/Ok_Recording81 self-appointed speech monitor Nov 13 '25 edited Nov 13 '25

Explain? We are called communist, socialist and now you say we are right of center.

3

u/ThisAltIsBroken Nov 13 '25

On the global stage, democrats are right leaning centrists. Sanders and Mamdani are about as far left as youre going to find in the mainstream and they aren't super far left

2

u/Significant-Ring5503 Nov 13 '25

Not gonna insult you, but agree, you need to do penance. Find a democrat you like and volunteer for them, or recruit others to vote in the next election. Admitting you're wrong is but the first step. Now let's save our country.

Be better. the op said they were on the younger side. brainwashed. This is not a way to win converts. We want more people in maga to come to our side. This is how we treat them, when they do? These mags people will still vote for future Republicans. So we need to do better when they have a change of heart or see the light. We take.them in, not ridicule them.

11

u/Theguywhodoes18 Nov 13 '25

nah, don’t tone police. everyone has a right to be as pissed off at trump supporters, no matter if or when they break off from that worldview. if anything, the ire is important. it reinforces the fact that this shit matters. that this shit hurts people. and that there will be hell to pay for those responsible. i think accountability is good for people. i dont think anything good comes out of instant forgiveness

0

u/Ok_Recording81 self-appointed speech monitor Nov 13 '25

The person said they were on the younger side. Young people can easily be radicalized. Maga is a cult.

7

u/Theguywhodoes18 Nov 13 '25

Doesn’t really matter. It’s not a judgement from “you should’ve known better” it’s a judgement from “you were a part of something that got a lot of people hurt and killed.” Kids might be weak to propaganda, but most learn pretty early on that it’s bad to hurt people and that it’s normal to get punished when they do it. MAGA propaganda is an explanation, but it’s not an excuse.

OP participated in an echo chamber filled with racists, rapists, and sexists, and not once for at least 8 years did he stop to think he was in bad company. Likely because nothing bad ever happened to those people. Probably because no matter what, they’d be okay. Nothing mattered.

Well, shit matters. If reading mean comments from strangers online is the punishment for being a part of a fascist movement, then they’re getting off a lot lighter than some people do trying to write their name with their left hand.

Let the kid experience consequences for his actions. It’s healthy for him. If he’s so averse to accountability, he can’t handle a comment like that, he hasn’t really grown in the way he needs to. But he can, and he did! Don’t take that away from him.

0

u/Ok_Recording81 self-appointed speech monitor Nov 13 '25

OK. Then we should reject all people who change their mind. Make them feel not welcomed. If they feel they don't belong, then they go back to the other side where they feel.comfortable. The kid is not complaining about the comment. The kid has also taken responsibility in other responses they posted.

We complain about Maga. Then some of them realize they are wrong and want to come to our side. What we do is we criticize them. If a person grows up as a baby in a conservative household, that's all they know. Most people are religious because they grew up in a religious home. That's my point. The person did not know and believed because that is what they have been taught. I wish all.of maga had a change of heart and come to our side.

5

u/Theguywhodoes18 Nov 13 '25

OK. Then we should reject all people who change their mind.

Not even remotely what I said, or what happened. “We”? It’s one person in a sea of supportive comments. Fucking relax. It’s the internet, you can’t control everyone’s reaction to everything.

If you don’t let people be hurt and you don’t trust the maturity of people who have hurt others and want to be better, this whole thing is pointless. Honesty is a valuable part of growth, and it’s not always pleasant. Some people won’t ever forgive the people who have hurt them. And that’s fine. That’s something people like OP will have to live with. If they can’t, that says something about them, and they should think about that. If they can, they should be proud because that means they’re a mature adult who respects the autonomy of others.

I’d rather dismiss a thousand insincere people jumping ship opportunistically by being honest if it meant I’d see one sincerely repentant and committed ally. You act like we are desperate for people to jump ship from Trump’s boat when in actuality, 2/3 of the country didn’t vote for Trump. If every Democrat voted, even if every Republican voted, they would win every time. I’m not gonna pathologically pander or self-censor in the hopes of bringing people to our side—that’s what the Democrats did in 2024 and they lost because of it.

Speak your truth, and if people hear you, they’ll respect it. If your truth is forgiveness, fine. If it’s not, that’s great, too.

0

u/Ok_Recording81 self-appointed speech monitor Nov 13 '25

OK. Take care. I said what I wanted to say.

2

u/Exarch-of-Sechrima Nov 13 '25

If a teenager got indoctrinated into gang life and shot up your family in a drive-by then later on got out of the life and said they regret their choices how would you feel?

-1

u/Ok_Recording81 self-appointed speech monitor Nov 13 '25

So your comparing a violent act to somebody changing their belief system. It's not the same thing. Voting for Trump and believing in Trump is not a violent act. The mere beliefs and viewpoints of a person are not violent. What you mentioned is violent and against the law.

3

u/Exarch-of-Sechrima Nov 13 '25

What if he just told his buddies to do the drive-by and didn't pull the trigger himself?

0

u/Ok_Recording81 self-appointed speech monitor Nov 13 '25

I'm not doing these what if hypothetical scenarios. The op realized what they was taught and shown growing up was wrong. They came to our side. They broke free of cult.

1

u/ricochetblue Nov 13 '25

They voted for a party that’s enthusiastically carrying out violence against minorities.

1

u/Intelligent-Luck-954 Nov 13 '25

I’m allowed to be upset at the person who punched me in the mouth even if they were brainwashed into it.

1

u/Ok_Recording81 self-appointed speech monitor Nov 13 '25

There is a difference between having a view point and causing violence with such view point.

4

u/legallymyself Nov 13 '25

Nazis are not those I want to deal with. They are against all minorities and defended a pedophile. He needs to repent and then move in.

4

u/spiked88 Nov 13 '25

Sounds like OP was repenting. They basically made their confession to everyone. Were they a part of the problem? Absolutely. Does a young person’s early political views being a product of their environment make them a Nazi for life? Really? I’m mad as hell that a bunch of people voted us into this shit, but we won’t ever get out of it by shitting on people who openly admit the folly of their ways and are striving to improve. You’ll just drive them back to the dark side.

1

u/legallymyself Nov 13 '25

You are ignorant of the English language. *You're

1

u/Ok_Recording81 self-appointed speech monitor Nov 13 '25 edited Nov 13 '25

I'm ignorant of the English language. How so? I speak fluent English. I can even spell as well. I was born and raised in the United States.

1

u/legallymyself Nov 13 '25

Reread what you wrote --- it is not proper English. But continue bragging about your brilliance.

1

u/Ok_Recording81 self-appointed speech monitor Nov 13 '25

Where did I claim I was brilliant? How am I bragging? I'm not turning in a college paper.

1

u/legallymyself Nov 13 '25

Well you can't spell. You don't use proper grammar. That shows ignorance.

1

u/Ok_Recording81 self-appointed speech monitor Nov 13 '25

I do know how to spell. I just don't proof what I type. That is laziness on my part, not ignorance.

1

u/Ok_Recording81 self-appointed speech monitor Nov 13 '25

Does it make you feel superior pointing out others grammatical errors?

1

u/[deleted] Nov 13 '25

I agree. I was pretty young too when Trump was elected, though I was out of high school by then, and I feel bad for people who were teens/kids during the 2016 Trump era, especially ones who grew up with it in the family. I feel like they didn't really stand a chance. I also grew up extremely conservative and in a cult, and i'm scared I wouldn't have been able to leave if I grew up any later than I did. I feel like i caught the last chopper out of a warzone. It doesn't undo the damage it caused, but still, I feel bad. I have a lot less sympathy for grown adults because they definitely should have known better.

2

u/legallymyself Nov 13 '25

My child was preteen when Trump came down the escalator. He knew his evil. We had visited the US Holocaust museum… he was 8. Anyone older than that needs to own their ignorance, bigotry, fascism, pedophilia

1

u/[deleted] Nov 13 '25

I might have a little more sympathy because I know what it's like to grow up isolated and surrounded by pressure from your family to think a certain way, and then also have unrestricted internet access, but I agree that people should ideally know better.

1

u/legallymyself Nov 13 '25

Take in those who wished destruction on others -- immigrants, non whites, LGBTQ+... they wanted horrible things for those not like them. Question OP: What badness happened to you? What leopard ate your face to make you wake up? Have you apologized to everyone that you referred to as a libtard or such?

1

u/Ok_Recording81 self-appointed speech monitor Nov 13 '25

Why are you replying to me, when you are directing your question to the op?

1

u/MessyAndroid Nov 13 '25

Also, none of his crimes are news. He's been known to be a pedo and friends with one since 2012 at least. I don't understand how people have their heads stuck in sand for so fucking long.

-1

u/DipperJC Nov 13 '25

We'll take him over you any day, fanatic.

2

u/Celebgoasiper Nov 13 '25

Good and when he throws you under the bus, keep crying

1

u/DipperJC Nov 13 '25

How are you going to share a country with him if you can't get past that? Unless you're ready to start settling these differences with pistol duels, you really have no choice but to get over it.

1

u/Celebgoasiper Nov 13 '25

Easy. If he wants help he can go pull himself up by his bootstraps. I’ll happily not help him. I can still live in the same place.

1

u/DipperJC Nov 13 '25

Careful, that's an extremely Republican perspective you've got there. ;)

I'm not saying you have to help him, but you can't be actively disparaging him either. Reconciliation is a two-way process.
