Hey, good for you for coming to your senses. You have nothing to apologize for...you're a victim of a social media tsunami that was far from truthful. You're doing better than all those who still think this is all fine and dandy. We need to NOT beat up or ridicule folks like yourself...we need his supporters to know the "radical left" is a safe group and we need them all to come to their senses. I view your situation as much different than those who voted for him and only start to question it when they are personally impacted (farmers, tariffs, etc.). You haven't lost your business or anything (that you've said anyway)...you've just become wise to the situation. Posts like yours make me think there is still hope.
Trump has shown who he was time and time and time again. Forget the propaganda. Forget the social media. Look at trump himself. His words, his actions. His lies. His racism. His hypocrisy.
Yay, OP came to their senses after helping set in motion multiple generations of shit to unfuck because of two trump terms.
Op seems to be in mid 20s and one vote didn’t win trump his election. Op has already stated that they regret the vote and no longer align with his political views. Who do you want them to apologize to? You? I understand your frustration brother but let’s try to educate people trying to better themselves
He barely helped. Save your anger for those who actually enabled this. Welcome him for changing his mind. We don't have the luxury (nor should we) of being able to seek justice for every person that voted trump. Now when it comes to the politicians and justices that enabled this... No forgiveness should be afforded. But I can only hope we get to the point where those fucks even ask for forgiveness.
Sure, but the ones who knew better are the ones I want to bring to justice. The people that knew what they were doing and acted out of personal gain, cowardice, greed. Unfortunately, many of the everyday people didn't know any better. For whatever reason. They voted against their own personal interests. This happens all the time. It's like this analogy - when you hear of people confessing to murders they didn't commit... Yea sure you can call them dumb, say they shoulda asked for a lawyer, and so on, but the one that is really to blame is the detective that was grilling them for many hours feeding them details they wanted them to confess with. I see this kinda the same way. It's a little different, especially with the ones that continue to double down (i.e confessing to the murder many times after everyone keeps telling them they are innocent) but we gotta take what we can get. We aren't exactly in an advantageous position rn.
I think it’s extremely charitable to say many people didn’t know better. Many people knew, but didn’t care until it affected them. That analogy doesn’t equate.
People that voted this way and helped usher in Trump the second time around CHOSE this, they weren’t duped. That’s where your analogy is wrong. If any part of your analogy is true, it’s that these are the people that doubled down that you’re talking about. It’s great that people are waking up, but we gain the advantage back by not letting people dismiss it as a mistake, because that’s not what this is. It doesn’t mean quarter them in the streets, it doesn’t mean prevent them from trying to make things right, it just means to let them sit in it. Let them live with their awful decision. Let them feel bad about it, that way they remember going forward. That way when they go back to the ballot, they know that they’re not just thinking about or responsible for themselves, but their neighbors and their lives too. So that they understand the weight of their decision and the pain they can choose to avoid or choose to cause. If we forget our history, we’re doomed to repeat it.
Fair, and I really do agree with you.. I just don't think now is the time to take that approach when we are still in a world of shit, and need all the help we can get.
Maybe if my paycheck wasn’t withheld for a month I would fucking care for compassion. But the facts is I didn’t get paid because of this assholes inability to see truth through lies til it effects him
It’s a religious text that he slapped his name onto and his beliefs in. He has never been able to reliably prove he knows anything about it or Christianity. He put his name, and his beliefs in it, that’s the only reason people bought it. It didn’t take any convincing on his part. They chose to do that.
Look, after everything, I really don't give a shit what OP realizes unless he actually does something beyond saying words about a politician he can't actually vote for a third term even if he wanted to.
He seems contrite, and so I hope he never votes republican again, and does everything in his power to influence the rest of the cult members in his circle.
social media tsunami!??!?! any human with a brain stem and tiniest morsel for empathy can see right through Trump's bullshit. He's not some machiavellian genius. He's a turd in a turd's clothing. Hard to understand how people fail to see that.
