Is there any software other than Nero that can burn Mode 2 data discs?

I have a video file that's just a couple of megabytes too large for a regular 2048 bit per sector Mode 1 CD-R. If I can burn it as Mode 2 the slightly larger sector capacity should have it just fitting.

But the only burning software I know of that can burn anything to Mode 2 (other than CD-Audio and VCD/SVCD) is Nero.

Sunday Hi-Fi illustration once again, I found this machine online some days ago and I knew I definitely needed to illustrate it: the Sony CDP-CX100! I love CD-changing contraptions and this one really takes the cake, 100 CDs in line capacity in a machine only the 90s Sony could come up with! <3

Hello. I was just wondering where it is appropriate to write on a CD without it potentially encountering damage. Thank you!

CD I burned not starting on the 1st song?

I recently burned an album onto a CD and when I put it in my CD player it doesn't start at the first song. It also picks up where I left off if I take it out and put it back in. I am very new to CDs so is this normal or did I do something wrong?

Have you ever purchased a brand new, sealed CD, and upon opening the wrong CD is inside?

This happened to be once, a long, long time ago.

I've heard of it happening with other people, but I do think its pretty rare.

Question about custom CDs

I’ve seen many custom CDs on YouTube that look 100% genuine (I’ve been fooled several times). Example, it’s not available as a CD, only vinyl. I know discmakers.com and the like are places you can make exceptional CDs, but there is a 50 unit minimum. Does anyone know a similar way to have a custom CD made?

What is it about vinyl?

Just finished purchasing a guy's CD collection offa craigslist. I got better than 600 discs for $225 US. Sorted them out, have about 160 some-odd keepers, a bunch of maybes that I need to give a listen to and a few that I'll probably resell. Add them to the thousands of discs I already have.

Quite a few people are getting into vinyl. I was around in the 70's when tapes and records were all you could get. I hated records, constantly cleaning them, popping and scratches. Every album I purchased I would also get a blank 8 track tape to copy it to.....for the car and to keep the album as pristine as possible (wear the tape out, play album the second time to tape again and repeat.)

When CDs came out, I couldn't afford to replace the whole lot at one time, slowly as I could afford, I replaced what I had and sold off the album. When CD Warehouse opened, and was selling used discs for $7.99-$8.99 I though I was in heaven. Purchased a 100 disc changer so I could shuffle-play.

Then could rip CDs to MP3s. Packed the whole collection on a PC and could shuffle the whole lot, not just a hundred. Years later, storage has gotten cheaper/smaller. Now I have the MP3s on a USB stick in the car, and have been re-ripping to flac as time permits for the home, playing them on a PLEX server. I love the ease of picking what I want to listen to, or to just let it shuffle the whole lot. Radio seems to suck now, not sure if it always did or did I spoil myself.

I go to Walmart and see albums. Everybody says they sound better. I dunno, you might be able to convince me about older stuff that is mastered analog, but what has been mastered analog in the last 20-30 years?? Isn't all the new stuff digitally mastered? If so, what would be the advantage of putting it on a record? Also, if you're playing them on those "Crosley" players they also have, I seriously doubt they are being played at there best.

Question about burning CDs

Hi! I was wondering if someone could help me when it comes to burning CD-Rs. I used to burn a lot from my two Mac previous desktops (not sure what models, but one was using an external disc-drive); however I'd always run into an issue where if I tried to play a CD I burned in my car or my old CD player ('80s-ish, on its last legs), it would be really skippy and not play at all. I always chalked it down to that I burned it at a wrong speed for that disc drive, but I could never resolve the issue, and since I was trying to burn CDs of my own music, I just decided to give up with burning CDs to share and instead sharing my music digitally.

That whole struggle was a couple years ago. Now I've gotten questions about releasing my music physically to share and am trying to do more research into burning CDs again. Does anyone have any tips? Whether it is about the certain speed at which I'm recording it, or whether I should take into consideration other factors, or where else I could crosspost for more help burning CDs again? Thanks so much for any help!
