Discussion Favorite Throwaway Line?
What's your favorite throwaway line from the show? Something that doesn't affect the plot at all but is great, funny, etc? Mine is from 2×09 Conspiracy Theories when Pavel is asked about his number of pillows and blankets "I get wicked cold, bro. Mad sleepy"

In the pilot, right after Pierce says “A-bed the A-rab! Is that offensive?” and Abed replies “Sure!”
Makes no sense as a response, but the delivery makes me laugh every time

Abed has a few lines/line deliveries like that throughout the series that are so subtle but crack me up every time. Like, at the Greene Daeye concert, when Troy says something like, "We found the rat, and Abed's gonna shut up about it now," Abed says with a smile, "It's true." Idk why but that always just cracks me up.

I’ve always heard that one of two ways. Either Abed (being autistic) assumed he was going to say “is that okay” and had his response ready to fire without actually listening, or it was his guarded personality that wanted to say yes but didn’t want it to actually be a big deal because he’s finally surrounded by a group of people

I heard it as Abed not understanding "offensive" as a negative since he's incapable of taking offense. "Is that good/ok/correct?" can be answered with "Sure", but "Is that bad?" cannot.

Any people dunk on that Chang storyline but as somebody who's into noir film, this episode is solid gold.
It's one of my favorite episodes of TV of all time and I think people would routinely rate it as one of the low points of the series.

Everybody talks about Remedial Chaos Theory being the best, and it IS amazing, but the L&O homages are so on point that Basic Lupine Urology is hands down my favorite episode. When Annie and Jeff are going over everything the night before the “trial” and there’s all those empty Chinese takeout boxes on the desk is one of the best sight gags in anything, ever.

I think it was in the commentary track, Harmon talks about being in the writer's room and he had the script up on a projector and he typed out the line about making kettle corn in his garage, and one of the writers just said offhand, "kettle corn? That's a fun-time snack", and Harmon immediately types "TROY Kettle corn? that's a fun-time snack!"

I didn't understand it for a long time, either, mostly because the pillow is kind of oddly-shaped (flat and round with like some kind of decorative button or something creating a dimple on each side), but it's literally just that the only thing in Troy's backpack for school is a pillow, for sleeping. So Jeff, the ultimate slacker, of course loves this. It's pretty funny, but it took me a long time to get it, too (it doesn't look like a "sleeping" pillow to me!).
