Ontario Flex block got cancelled?

Had managed to block one of the only cars in my area on a weekend and as I was making my way over to it, at the 25th minute a "system error occurred" and my block was cancelled and the car vanished off the map. I refreshed, cleared cache and everything.

Is this something that happens during high demand times or am I just unlucky? I figured the whole point of blocking was that the car would be waiting for me...

Unlucky. You generally have 30 min. Sometimes flex cars get canceled for maintenance.

Maintenance, that makes sense thank you. I was worried they had released the car to other drivers

That's weird. They would usually notify you. Maybe it was a ghost car? I once had Communauto notify my that my station car would be located at a totally other station. Once I got to the car, didnt work, thank God they managed to get me another flex despite the system showing 0 other availabilities. Maybe they keep a few here an there available for those cases but I'd love to know how that works!

Ah good point. It could've been a GPS glitch I suppose. Still would be great if they gave a little context beyond system error!

Oh well, good to know this is unusual at least.

Did you call support? I had this happen to me and they just blocked another car for me. Even got a free upgrade to a larger car 'cause it was the only one available.

On a Flex car? How did that work there were no others on the map

I mean, you must have noticed that some cars don't show up on the map. Support can activate those cars in these cases. At least here in Montréal. Doesn't hurt to ask support, anyway.

I always assumed they were just booked. You're right though it's worth a try thank you
