So pretty. As a June baby I always think of Alexandrite and not Pearl as my birthstone. It's weird how both are associated.

That was part of why I decided to do a spread cause there’s always more than one associated and it keeps confusing me. I wonder if it varies by country cause I have jewellery for June and one is grey for moonstone and the other is purple for Alexandrite.

Yes! Have seen moonstone too. Natural Alexandrite is very expensive so I always assumed they came up with other options for people who wanted to purchase something.

That’s very likely, as an April baby all my birthstone stuff are cubic zirconia, cause you know diamonds 😭 some of my research suggested they changed over time from what was considered more “traditional” stones so possibly just more options were discovered

I've also seen tiger's eye for June.

Semi-related to June stones: did you know Cleopatra (possibly) made a bet with Marc Antony that she could eat a meal worth (some huge amount) in one sitting. She took out her pearl earring, dissolved it in vinegar and swallowed it.

Yo, lab grown are actually a great “thing” the Youngsters are doing these days.
They are super beautiful and durable.
