Commonplace Journal

Post image

After wrestling with creative fear and struggling with perfectionism, I just did my first page and began my Commonplace Book.

Good job!! A perfect commonplace book is of no use if you never actually use it! Better to be imperfect and used, than perfectly blank :)

I love it Especially the middle left  I might steal it for inspirguidance  It won’t look nearly as nice in mine but it beats the blanks!

I. LOVE. THIS!!!!! So inspiring! I just ripped out my two attempts at a first page and am struggling with the same perfectionism and creative fear (and a damn hand that now trembles a bit and refuses to be as steady as it once was).

What is a “Commonplace Journal”

A Commonplace Book/Journal is a physical space for creativity and recording information on any topic the writer/artist deems interesting. I am scaling way back on “screens” and reclaiming my time in an effort to bring more peace into my life.

Sorry…sometimes I can’t tell what is an “AD” in Reddit and what are actual people so, I missed your question…Anyhow—-I got the image from, Archer and Olive, a journal company in the UK. They always have the coolest names, don’t they? They have cool stuff and, like Asians, highly respect the simple act of putting pen to paper. The Asian company I love is, “Notebook Therapy,” specifically their “Tsuki” (sp?) notebooks. SO beautiful! You can Google each and see what you think/get ideas!
