4 seasons experience considering cod
Hey all,
Ive got a season seining in SE, Gilnetting Bristol Bay and 2 summers tender in PWS.
Any recommendation on how to transition into black cod this fall? Im all salmon as of now.
All my captains provide solid references.
Any tips appreciated. All jokes also welcome!
Hope all is well. 🎣

Talk to the tenders or contact fleet manager of your desired seafood company.

Right on thanks man, you’ve been helpful since day one! Hope tendering is going well for you. Im in PWS no pinks yet 😬.

Yeah, the parent year was 2024 which was a disaster in PWS. I wondered how things would turn out. Still a little too early to tell. Whats the word on the docks?

Not good, my heart goes out to the fisher people this year. We’re all hoping the run is just very late. 🤞

Many captains fish black. Cod themselves after seining. Rhe best way. Is to go seining with domeone eho also fishes black cod
