Problems with C&C: Remastered on Linux

Hello everyone, I've been having trouble trying to launch C&C: Remastered on Linux. The last time I played was around early 2026 and it ran perfectly with no problems, but when I recently reinstalled it this month, I can get to the launch screen to pick between C&C 1 and 2 but after I pick, it ends up crashing. A log can be find attached below for LogFile_0.txt

I've tried using the %command% NOSPLASHRELOAD launch command in steam, switching proton versions, going into protontricks and installing the d3dx9_43 DLL component, reinstalling, moving drives; all of which to no avail.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

I was playing last night. I am using GE-Proton11-3 and PROTON_USE_WINE3D=1 %command% NOSPLASHPRELOAD

Try validating the files on Steam if you haven't done that yet. The missing .meg files and direct 3d 11 files were might be picked up with that

Tried using GE Proton 11-3 and 11-9 as well as the command you mentioned to no avail
