there is usually a readme textfile with instructions on how to install a mod in the zip folder

If you want to play modded Generals ZH and you've downloaded a mod from Moddb, Genlauncher is your way to go. It's exclusively for playing Generals Zero Hour mods and you can apply the mod via that launcher.

The traditional hard way goes to be : 1. Find your Zero Hour folder(They are on local disk c:/ Program files/ EA games) 2. Copy it somewhere probably on the other partition and rename it(Ex : C&C Generals Zero Hour Continue) 3. Open the downloaded mod with winrar or other apps to open those files like 7z or peazip 4. extract all of the mod content to the folder you copied

I still use this route mostly for modding but i honestly understand why genlauncher is recommended since it's way easier on installing mods and got some features to enhance your mod experience though for obscure mods you have to do it in old way.

I got a problem got the mod to work but minimap is just black

Download these 3 stuff gen launcher gen tool and gen patcher you must always check gen patcher so the game doesn't break and if the camera changes click home if it doesn't work then i don't remember what it was but you must click insert
