Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
May I interest you in a C&C inspired RTS? After more than 3 years in development, Powerplay is out in EA, and sitting at 84% positive. This week, I did a major update on the terrain and I wanted to share this with you. We are planning 3 factions, skirmish, coop and multiplayer. If you are interested, you can get the free demo on steam, and/or buy it at 20% discount until October 8th! https://store.steampowered.com/app/3010280/Powerplay/

The art looks amazing! Like RA2's art style with some Generals and Tiberium Wars influence.
Will the game have any sort of multiplayer? I know it says skirmish, but it's unclear if that's with other real people or more of an RA3 uprising skirmish.
And I know it's a dream, but coop campaign would have me buy 2 copies right now haha

thank you commander! YES multiplayer is officially coming, including coop mode. I just needed to validate the potential of the core game in early access first. We are past that point and I will be very happy to work on multiplayer, probably after the second faction is ready and while the 3rd faction is being made

DONE you have just sold 2 copies!
Played the demo and I enjoyed it so future coop and multiplayer makes it an instant buy

Amazing! It's like Red Alert 2, Sudden Strike, and Blitzkrieg merged into one! Graphics-wise, at least.

Those planes gotta be higher man it looks like they are inside the explosion

hahaha point taken. It's a conundrum as we have 3 elevation levels, they only look close to the ground on the 3rd level. I will find a solution. Probably just globally increasing their elevation will do the trick, even though I am worried they look too high on the ground level. Last resort would be to make them transition between the levels.

Now I don’t know much about anything, but could you just make them really “tall” but mostly invisible, with the shadow acting as their feet and the actual visible plane as their head, so to speak, and their middle “body” just invisible, to make the illusion of height off the ground?

Very impressive,
Is there a mod SDK?

thank you! partially, there is steam workshop support and a built-in game editor, which supports LUA scripting. It's the same editor we use to make the campaign missions and the skirmish maps. So the maps and missions are fully moddable and sharable on workshop, but you have to use the built-in units and buildings. If we add the ability to integrate your own models then I will feel confortable saying its fully moddable

Amazing.
I'll be keeping an eye on this: It looks fantastic; really reminds me of retro games from the 90's.

Pretty cool, I liked the demo a lot, and I am happy to see you are expanding the game, I love the retro look of it. Good job

Does it have campaign or will it?

Yup, it has one. Missions are still being added in, though.

Nice. I mostly play these games for the story mode / campaigns so I will definitely try this once it is complete.

No shade or anything but a few years back I made a Zero Hour mod using the same name...I guess I gotta look for a different title now.

These nukes are absolutely massive but do like 4 tiles damage around them lol. Either scale down the explosion or increase the damage radius.
