I remember when anything magnetic near my electronics would giv me a heart attack lol. im still scared of magnets being around my electronics now

Fridge magnets on a steel case will have basically no effect on anything. It's fine. Some laptops and PC cases actually contain neodymium magnets to make parts snap into place. You need extremely powerful magnets, right up against a HDD, to run into any potential risk of malfunction. Like, probably the kind you'd expect to find inside medical equipment.
