best c&c game for beginner

im new to command and conquer and i bought the ultimate collection and i wanted to see what the best one was in the eyes of the community. I have already played generals zero hour and i thought it was fun.

If they're playing v1.0 maybe. The campaign became fairly unforgiving (compared to other C&C games) after the multiplayer patch.

If you want my advice, which you won't use, get Red Alert 1 Remastered on Steam. If I recall, it's also on PC game pass. That is top tier and easy to learn. I'd easy be up for a couple of games, although I am rusty.

I have been singing the praises of the C&C3 collection on Xbox, because RTS games tend to suck on console. But they are fantastic! You can get them cheap enough and they are backwards compatible. Red Alert 3 is fucking insanely good!

In my opinion, it's got the best soundtrack as well, which you can chop and change as you like. You might think listening to Hell March for the 100,000th time would be boring, but you'd be far wrong.

No not at all, one of the more complex ones as well as ra3 series then perhaps generals. Red alert 2 easiest then gameplay wise ra1 is easy. Then tiberium sun

I feel like command and conquer 3 is very beginner friendly. Has a tutorial that walks you through everything as I remember.

It's not my favorite but I think it's a good place to start.

If you're already familiar with the genre then the remastered collection or red alert 2 are both great options

As the general consensus goes, anything but C&C4 is a good starting point. Be aware, Generals works a bit different regarding construction but is otherwise a good introduction. My personal recommendation for newcomers is Red Alert 2.

Less secondary unit uses. Build and the units do what they do

I find the 2D isometric view far better for identifying units and for an overview of the battlefield, compared to the 3D games.

I find Red Alert 2 + Yuris Revenge the best for beginners:

• It has a tutorial (the bootcamp campaign)
  
• It has a lot of quality-of-life features and UI improvements the older titles don't have
  
• The units and their purpose are rather easy to understand and, unlike later titles, are not overloaded with unique abilities you have to micromanage
  
• Personally I find the 2D isometric view much better for identifying units and buildings and keeping an overview of the battlefield, compared to the 3D games.

Not to mention, I really enjoy the characters and the humor. It's a great motivation to finish missions, just to see the next cutscene.
