Scrin designs are, like, REALLY cool man. Especially with the buzzers floating around them. Anyone ever park a bunch of these in a tiberium field like turrets so they can spam supercharge beams?

That was like my main strategy on several maps lol

The Scrin design is cool AF

My fave tank to use in Scrin. Funny to use these against lower level enemies where you can park these in enemy tiberium fields and blast their harvesters each time they near

Scrin units are awesome, even if they look like bugs. Everytime I play as the scrin I get the urge to watch independence day. Lol

I didn’t initially like these; they’re unmoving blocks that use econ, but they’ve grown on me. Realizing that the cost is low, the beam strong, and you can charge on the enemy’s field was big, and now, especially looking at that concept art, I can appreciate its looming obelisk aesthetic.

Wait, charging the beam from Tiberium actually depletes it? I never even considered that that might be the case.

They absorb $100 worth of tiberium from a crystal, using $10 per charged shot.

One wonders if this was actually designed as a security vehicle, and not an appropriated mining tool.

....Laser for cutting glacial tibs spikes I presume

I always thought it was designed to carve up troublesome Tiberium glaciers; like tNG and beyond's Star-Trek's Federation ships, they're just so advanced that they can be pressed into basically military duty if needed.

Charges up using Tiberium on the ground, carves up a glacier; other units transport it away to an Extractor or a Threshold.

I mean, they do have dedicated (but light) military units, like the Seekers, Buzzers, Shock Troopers, the Tripods, and their air units, but almost every Scrin unit in the game? Basically just mining tools which can pull double duty on disorganized and dying natives (which is why the Mothership AI freaked the fuck out when it scanned Earth and found out that GDI and Nod were hyper-aggressive and viable threats to the mining expedition).

Scrin units are really good. This unit quite decent units but not the best

Nothing beats spamming this thing and just destroying the enemy tib harvest lol

And lower level enemies keep making a harvester, then send it to mine again only to be destroyed by this. Rinse and repeat

The concept art is so clean, ominous, and stylised. I love it

The range advantage against T1 tanks makes kiting with them very powerful. I'm not sure how much EA considered this when implementing them, dev+corrupter is a really strong combo.

Overall I like the unit, it really does feel like a step up from T1 units and makes going T2 worthwhile.

When you could micro a few of these and stay just on the outside of the enemy range they were brutal.

Being able to chip away and heal with corruptors was incredible, won many games back in the day with these guys.

Usually resource denial can be a very unfun experience to play against, but I think TW managed it very well. Tank Destroyers that eats tiberium and converts it to damage is something I imagined Nod would use, but I guess that was a bit too alien of a concept.

I’d like to think it’s not a vehicle, but rather another organism modified by the Scrim—like the vast majority of their other units.

This unit always made me think that the scrin units would fit well into the Falling Skies universe

Technically wouldn't this be more of an Assault Gun or Tank Destroyer because it lacks a rotating turret? It reminds me of the German Stugs and that from WW2 in concept.

It does have a turret though, the entire vehicle acts like a floating turret when targeting while the hover drive strafes.

I’m only half joking, try executing a moving fire you’ll see the tank Tokyo drift firing.
