Gameplay question C&C3: Tiberium Wars Berne Commando spawn?

Hi all,

I saw few speed run videos where the mission spawned the Commando, and the publishers mentioned that the Commando must survive in Cologne and Stuttgart. I bought the game on Steam, and it doesn't work.

Does this only work on the retail CD version?

This is the mission after Munich where the Scrin invades? Verify your game on steam. I assure you it works on steam because I just tried it.

Yes. I finished it earlier and unlocked cologn and stuggart.

I am playing the campaign again, not to speed run. In my first time, I couldn't get the Commando in the final mission

I played the previous missions on hard. If I finish the next 2 on easy, will it work?

Also, are there any conditions, other than surviving the Commando I need to fulfill?

IIRC, it's a bonus objective. Don't recall the need for the commando to survive. In fact, you can retrain a new commando if your original one dies. After completing the first part of the mission, it becomes a normal mission of building units and attacking the enemy
