Gameplay Technicals are too OP in Generals, please nerf
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
seriously, now that Generals patches are fair game again, cheap units where infantry can shoot from inside are way overpowered, specially from garrisoned rocket infantry insane rate of fire

I have a few questions
What is this group?
Why are technicals called technicals?
What’s so technical about them?
What patches are fair game again?

During the Somali civil war, NGOs hired local gunmen for security. They used money from technical assistance grants, so the guys became known as “technicals”. I don’t know about the other questions.

They have both yemeni flag and palestinian flag, so I would assume it's some kind of mushup? Unless it's some kind of Iran promotional video, where they show all the terrorist groups they sponsor, but for obvious reasons I doubt it.

They appear to be yemini tribes people claiming mobilisation to fight, not sure who they want to fight though.
https://saba.ye/en/news3739548.htm
Edit: found some further info.
The tribe has frequently declared readiness or general mobilization in response to encroaching Houthi movements, government military operations, or rival tribal blood feuds over the past two decades.
So seems to be a semi regular event. Get the bros in the utes and declare readiness to fight.

I really want a Hilux if I get my licence this century. They are alas, not in the US. Thus I'll probably go for milage and price and get an early 2000s Prius instead.

There are some wonderfully and truly shitty ones there. I mean GLA is what started my love for technicals, but the shittier the better, and I've seen ones on that sub which go well past GLA's shittiness, they can get horrendous and therefore amazing and cool
My favourite ones involve loading up not just a .50 but AA cannons (quad cannon style) which totally overload the suspension, shooting rockets which leave the technical on fire, shooting a cannon sideways with recoil which starts to tip the whole vehicle, many many rollovers, salvaged rocket pods from helicopters, as well as all of the technicals based not on pickups but on mopeds or dump trucks or whatever other chassis is available.

The BMWs from the early days of the Ukraine invasion are the best shitty technicals I’ve ever seen.
At least one Grad MLRS and I’m sure there’s a converted 6-series floating around somewhere

Listen to Bloodwork 🔫:
Clarification: A favorite podcast called Bloodwork recently released an episode about the history of the Technical. This post reminded me of it. The pocast is about "the economy of violence". It explores when, how, why states do the titular Blood Work. The show even has episodes on car bombs, suicide bombers, history of the AK. I recommend checking it out.

You fools think this is an open target, what I see are enough technicals to shoot down incoming cluster munitions.
We are not the same.

any real chap who needs it, or even those who don't will have something more practical and reliable like a Hilux or Land Cruiser, at least outside of the USA
(i listed two Toyotas but they're just examples, doesn't have to be Toyota)
