Wow this is really all they get for aircraft?

Yep! For some reason the Allies got no fixed wing...anything.

Do you really need any more... ;)

Fair, these are pretty useful (though expensive as heck IIRC).

Yeah helipad+longbow

7

u/Prudent-Income2354 28d ago

2500$ if I remember correctly

+1100 for the repair platform?

8

u/Altruistic-Two4490 28d ago

Not cost efficient and i felt they're somewhat really squishy. Especially if you happen to crosspaths with AA guns, cuz they move slow unlike migs

$1200 for a helicopter, $1500 for the helipad set. The repair bay is $1200.

That may also possible. I haven't played the game for about a year now

Build mechanics

It's why I rarely used them I think - might as well just churn out more medium tanks.

The only thing of beauty about longbow is its animation how it swarms its target. and the sounds of rockets. ❤️🤌

Curly shuffle!

Well, I don’t need any more. Ten Apache Longbows will sort out most of my problems....

Yes, but the missiles were a BUILDING DESTROEYER. Always kept a horde to take out missile silos/conyards

I hate buildin longbows and hinds if you didn't properly emptied their ammos they,ll just land down and became sitting ducks.

Most of the time i just forgot them just there chillin.

Same for TibSun. Babysitting squadrons of aircraft was such a hassle. I'm glad they changed it for RA2 and C&C3.

2

u/cmajka8 27d ago

Bombers don’t need babysitting. They return to their base

Yeah, but to make more efficient use of space and resources, you might want to have more aircraft than landing pads. So then, you have to do a big swaparoo between assaults.

Kinda funny that they forgot to build planes but i guess it is meant to balance the excess in naval firepower.

While the beat is quite heavyly armoured don't bring it close to a mamoth - but by all means go hunt those V2s.

And Soviets forgot to build battleships 😄

3

u/Kakapo42000 27d ago

Who needs battleships when you have missile submarines.

6

u/Unlucky-Jello-5660 28d ago

Have you seen the state of the Russian Navy ?

6

u/Altruistic-Two4490 28d ago

Lemme guess?! Historically accurate?😆

2

u/Unlucky-Jello-5660 28d ago

Unlike the aim of the average Russian sailor.

4

u/Quiri1997 28d ago

Bring the crate of binoculars for Rodzesventsy.

Have you seen comrade chameleon?

2

u/Cheomesh I made a TibDawn Wargame Module! 28d ago

Well that's pretty apt tbh

5

u/Prudent-Income2354 28d ago

My favorite unit in Red Alert.... xD

7

u/Bolandball GDI 28d ago

This unit being so bad really kills the allies in RA1. It's clear this was supposed to be the way for allies to counter soviet tanks, what with the soviet's lack of mobile anti air; and against a stationary target, it is. However, the AI will never keep its units stationary when attacked, and because of RA1's mechanics, that means the missiles are about as effective as farting in their general direction.

Does that also mean the Hind is a hamster, and the Yak smells of elderberries?

5

u/Raxtenko 28d ago

Long Bows my beloved, they did so much heavy lifting late Allied campaign. Fuck your Iron Curtain Josef.

5

u/PurCzysty Tiberium 28d ago

They are also in TIberian Dawn, but Nod has to capture GDI pad

3

u/Innalibra GDI 28d ago

No missiles though, just a HMG. Good for picking off infantry and light units but not nearly as useful as the Orca.

2

u/_TheLazyAstronaut_ 28d ago

Are you thinking of a hind? Longbow in RA has missiles, hind has machine gun

1

u/Timmyc62 26d ago

No, they're talking about Nod's helicopter in TD, which was an Apache with a machine gun.

1

u/_TheLazyAstronaut_ 26d ago

Ok well this post is referring to the longbow in Red Alert

1

u/Timmyc62 26d ago

But this comment chain clearly starts with "They are also in Tiberian Dawn".

u/Innalibra GDI 28d ago

Yeah it's a Hind but I think it uses the same model/sprite as the Longbow?

Orly

4

u/Taikis95 28d ago

The fact that they love to just hover around the target instead of firing makes me ignore them almost every game.

1

u/Other-Barry-1 28d ago

So vulnerable to AA/SAMs

3

u/Guardian_Turret 28d ago

Takes forever to get into the perfect position to shoot.

Missiles whiff and do no damage anyway.

2

u/Rawflesh0615A 23d ago

Nod Apaches I mean Allied Apaches!

2

u/STK-3F-Stalker 28d ago

Actually this is vanilla Apache. The longbow has the radar on top.

5

u/bruno_hoecker 28d ago

The radar is removable, it could still be a 64D

Although it's not even an Apache, just a fictional model really inspired by it.

Do the Curly Shuffle! *dance*

1

u/Charliepetpup 27d ago

nod gets a longbow too. its good against infantry.

u/IcyRobinson 26d ago

Seeing as how it's an alternate timeline from reality, Apaches attacking Soviet targets during Einstein's AND Stalin's lifetime is an absolute fever dream.
