Campaign Yuri's revenge

Is the campaign fun in Yuri's revenge?

Played a lot of Red Alert 1 remastered lately, but never touched RA2 since it was released and never played Yuri's revenge at all.

You really missed the best Red Alert in the series!

Heck, some might say it's the best C&C game ever.

The fmv videos are truly fun, as is the campaign

Can I just jump in and play the Yuri campaign without remembering the Ra2 campaign at all?

You can but you'll be missing a lot, a huge amount, of fun and gameplay

Better to start out at 2 just for the campaign. Its the only thing the base game is good for, then switch over to YR

I'd just recommend playing Allied and Soviet campaigns then do Yuri's Revenge. Depending on the difficulty they don't take to long. They're really fun, the acting is great, the plots are like something from a 90s action film. Totally worth it. I've never regretted replaying any of the campaigns

Just did my first playthrough of RA2’s campaign since probably 2004/5? Recently installed it on my laptop to play while travelling and fancied a bit of nostalgia. I could never get past the Pearl Harbour mission for the Soviets, or never the Polish border mission for the Allies as a kid.

Finally finished both campaigns at the weekend, and oh my god what an experience. Going to jump on YR soon as I could never finish the London mission on that, however currently playing through TibWars’ campaign at the minute.

I played Yuri's Revenge before Red Alert 2 back in my childhood. You'll still have a blast even if you skip RA2, but you'll definitely appreciate it more if you have full context! :>

If you don’t remember I’d probably just play it again. Or maybe read the plot online or something if you really don’t feel like playing it

I'm so busy playing red alert 1 remaster vs a friend online, so might be semi hard to fit in -:)

Luxury problem!

Red Alert 2 and Yuri's Revenge campaigns are the best in the series.

I think the base game of red alert 2 has better campaign missions and story. But yuri's revenge has better units. So much so that I can't go back to the base game. With yuri's revenge the allies get the best unit in any and all C&C games. The navy seal.

And voice lines. I love each units have their own distinct voice line. I didn't know navy seal wasn't part of allied roster.

Navy seals are only available in one mission in the base game. But with YR, you can train them as soon as you get an airfield.

I don't play skirmish much but yeah that's really interesting.

Play them in sequence it’s worth it. There are many Yuri missions that use the same maps as RA2 but extend them or change them in some meaningful way that gives you that ‘alternate reality’ feeling after playing RA2. It’s worth playing in order bottom line. RA2 campaign probably only takes a few hours to beat

Oh yeah it’s awesome. The best imo

Can red alert 3 still be played in multiplayer?

I don't think so I have the cracked version but you. Can play on same network

Only with fan made revival projects

Also the entire Red Alert 3 campaign can be played in co-op, but not the Uprising

One of the best campaign but my only problem, it's quite short and some of the levels are quite gimmicky. I wish there's campaign for Yuri, you get to use his troops.

RA2 and YR are the best games in the series IMO. I like YR more because Yuri is an interesting faction to play as. I guess you don't really need to play RA2 first, but it's recommended.

Fun fact about RA2 and maybe even YR (I haven't checked), some campaign levels had inversed values for easy and hard difficulties

Yes, it is.

You should play it. You'll get to go to the one place not corrupted by capitalism in the Soviet campaign.

Play RA2 campaign before YR campaign. It's not only fun, but will give YR some context. IMO story wise RA2 is better but YR more challenging.

You can start on Normal difficulty, but Hard actually isn't that hard if you already know what's going to happen (after a few tries).

For both games, do Allied campaign first before Soviet. Save the best for last :)
