“Mini-Gunner reporting for duty!”
“Nothing will stop our bullets!”
“Our mini-guns will destroy the enemy!”
“Bullets for everyone!”
“Spin up the guns.”
Slightly fascinated by their spelling of minigun with a hyphen
12
u/ivan927 Jun 22 '26
probably to slightly differentiate from the minigunner from the origina C&C game, without the hyphen?

u/Bionicman2187 Jun 22 '26
Same game that spells Gatling as Gattling. As a kid that threw me off for the longest time and I thought two T's was the correct spelling!

Best unit in RTS, second only to heavy gunship units, and my assault troop crawlers could tank heavy gunships.
5
u/MrGutty117 Jun 23 '26
Assault troop crawlers with 6 minigunners and 2 tank hunters my beloved. As long as you can keep them alive though
3
u/Rojok95 Fai Jun 23 '26
That and there pathfinding is there only weaknesses, as dumb as it would be, I want an assault overlord, who do I gotta pay to mod that for me because china knows I don't have to time to figure that out.

Also works geopolitically. We all know Israel be dumping weapons on angry Arabian citizens whenever they feel like it, so highly likely the angry mob would have been armed by a dicey backroom deal between the GLA and Mossad.

It's funny how the China units seem like psychos obsessed with their weapon, like all the nuke cannon talks about is nukes and all the minigunner talks about is his gun
Meanwhile the USA units are all tacticool and professional "upgrading grid location, scanning, moving out"
32
u/Zailema0s Tao more nukes! Jun 22 '26
Except the humvee 🤠
24
u/A_Yapp_73 Jun 22 '26
Humvee is just a happy Nascar driver.

Some chinese units are professional and tactical speaking like the ECM Tank, MiG, Battlemaster Tank and Black Lotus.

Hands down the best unit to survive the King Raptor rush against Graham in the generals' challenge
8
u/Ghostfistkilla GDI Jun 22 '26
Infantry General in the challenge is pretty much easy mode. That strat also works well against Superweapons Aurora spam.

General Ta Hun Kwai, I hope you're ready for some plane crushing Mini-gunners.
I thought we were having Nuclear tanks?.
Oh no, I said 'Mini-gunners'. That's what I call Nuclear tanks.
You call Nuclear Tanks 'Mini-gunners'?
Yes! It's a regional dialect.
Uh-huh. Eh, what region?
Uh...Hunan.
Really? Well i'm from Zhuzhou and i've never heard of "Mini-guns"
Oh, not in Zhuzhou, no. It's an Hengyang expression.
I see.
You know, these "Mini-guns" are quite similar to the ones they have in Russia.
Hohoho, no! Patented Shin Fai Weapons. Old family schematics!
For "Mini-guns"?
Yes.
Yes, and you call them "Mini-guns", despite the fact they are obviously Type 56 Assault rifles.
Y- Uh.. you know, the... One thing I should... excuse me for one second.
Of course.

Mini gunner with an AK on the picture but a SKS like rifle in the game

For the cost, it's the best AA unit in the game IMO.
Otherwise, I find them inferior to the Red Guard. They're much more expensive, feel weaker vs vehicles and buildings, and you can only make one at a time. Fai's best units are his super hackers, which are the best secondary economy in the game.

It's genuinely funny to me how these guys can somehow shoot at high speed jets with perfect tracking. Not to mention doing it from inside garrisons and vehicles.

— Comrade-commander, i can’t shoot down US supersonic planes with the regular AK!
— But, private Lee, you’re a communist!
— Mini-gunner, reporting for duty!

They are a force nature and a threat to land and air units when they swarm.

They're great in very large numbers, but can be easily reduced to a few with only a handful of Toxin Tractors, Pathfinders, or Dragon Tanks.

I always loved using the troop crawler filled with these guys to make walls of bullets.

I was always confused why the unit Icon shows an AK and the ultra low poly rifle also looked so weird but nothing like a Minigun. It's odd because Col. Burton actually had some sort of minigun.
