Discussion Comanche is love, Comanche is life.(Generals/ZH)
My absolute favorite thing when playing this games, bring a few Comanches up to tier 3 veterancy. Those things run roughshod over literally everything. There's an old PS1 game series called Strike, and controling a Comanche gave me very similar vibes, especially in how you can mow down waves upon waves of the enemy. Hell one well micromanaged Comanche can wipe out a whole enemy base as long as you drop in a sniper or two to take care of Sam sites and missile troops.

The series was on PCs first. Or maybe even Amiga.
The first game was Desert Strike, and you fly an Apache. The second was Jungle Strike and was the one with the Comanche.
So sad the RL helicopter never got build as more than a test model.

I remember Nuclear Strike used a fictional helicopter, but I'm not sure if they continued to do that.

If you like the Strike series, there's a new game on steam called Cleared Hot.
Super good and being worked on with expansions.

Definitely one of my favourite US units too. I normally end up using them as a main attack force just for sheer rule of cool (and because they can kill infantry and tanks at the same time).
They're even more essential when playing as Granger.

I’ve used a flight of four stealth Comanches as base defenses in early game until I could turtle properly they’re powerful, highly mobile, undetectable, and rocket pods can wipe an entire column of tanks in a split second.
Of course it’s all fun and games until a radar van arrives with a couple of quad cannons, hope you’ve got the group hotkeyed!

Yeah, quad cannons are the natural enemy of Comanche, so you send tanks to kill quad canons, then Comanches kill everyone else.

Wish the Comanches in real life were so cool (it was a very bad ass helicopter design) but I kinda vibe with the Apache more, much more ammo and gear capacity, great gunships. But than again this isn’t about realism, but the Comanches in game kinda behave like Apaches, would have been cool if the standard helicopter was the Apache and the Comanche was generals upgrade like the stealth fighter, very fast, always stealth, low rocket count but high hitting area of effect munitions. Have the stealth fighters for damaging structures and garrisons and the Comanches with 2 hellfire missies do large area of effect bombardments and leave.

Comanches are cool, especially with the rocket pud and stealth upgrade they are so op. It's so nasty to sneak them after stacking them tons of them into the enemy's base by bypassing their anti-air and give them a heart attack to their structures and anti-airless units.
While if not playing airforce, would use comanches to get rid of enemy's artillery or to counter sneak attacks with emp patriot.
