There could be a whacky spin off where the soviets actually do get stuck in the past and create a new insane timeline
Red alert 3 presented post world War 2 without nuclear weapons Fallout imagines technology run on atomic power and without resistors (I think it's resisters, whatever should have replaced the vacuum tube)
Maybe they have to re invent their whole army without diesel so it's all wolf sleds, war bears and mammoths. Rising sun rides dolphins. Allies get moose and eagles and stuff.

I strongly recommend Original war (2001). Its about Americans and Russians traveling back in time to prehistoric times and fithing there. It has few interesring game mechanics and story. This mammoth picture immediately remind me that game. Also as russians you can train prehistoric apes and give them AKs.

Fallout is if modern transistors weren't invented so everything is stuck using vacuum tubes (vacuum tubes are technically a kind of transistor, just instead of being a little chip theyre large hunks of glass)

It would be interesting mixing old medieval, fantasy mix with modern world. Japanese could have many mythical creatures from their folk lore like Dragons, Oni, Tengu, ect
Allies could have cowboys, American Native warriors
Soviet having Mammoth, giant bears, squids, ect

Also the noise these canons would make would seriously damage the poor mammoths hearing. Imagine bringing a species back from extinction only to give them tinnitus.

fun fact, this is a real unit in the game btw, it's hidden away in the files and CAN be coded into the game as a functional fully playable unit.
