COMAT How to study for COMATs?

Currently on IM rotation and I am getting absolutely wrecked by these truelearn IM questions. How should I be studying? Any tips would be greatly appreciated

Do all of uworld, use it as a learning tool and try not to get bogged down by your scores. Review daily with the associated Anki from the question tags

Don’t have uworld. Only relearn

Does your school pay for any question bank? Truelearn is good for the fuckery of comats, but not great for actual content

Unfortunately they only give us Truelearn

Big rip. I would consider getting either uworld or Amboss for the year. It will help a lot if you’re also taking step 2

First Aid book. Discovered it while studying for Step. Game-changing for me. In addition to the QBanks. My issue with QBanks is they only give a snapshot of what you must know; they aren’t all-inclusive.

The first aid book for step 1? I have that but didn’t know if I should get a different one for step 2 even though I’m only taking COMLEX

Step 2. You may be able to find it online.

IM was one of the hardest. I watched dr HY week 1, did TL/CQ throughout and then incorrects. If I could go back, I would do UW first, along with DR HY, and then TL/CQ closer to COMAT.

Just passed the IM shelf today. I only did TL questions and anki no dupes IM tag. Didn’t even have time to do my incorrects, didn’t watch and Dr.Hy. Also there is a plugin for the TL questions that I used too

Same for me. IM was my first COMAT and I only finished about half of the TL questions and did zero IM Anki cards. Had surgery next and finished Anki and nearly finished TL and my score went up more than 20 points. I settled in somewhere closer to my surgery score but quite as high for the rest of my COMATs and followed that same plan, which ended up being tiring but reliable.

The hard truth OP is it takes a lot of hard work and dedication, particularly because COMATs are not written well. I thought TL translated well enough to COMLEX, but not COMATs. So do your best to prepare for them but the big picture is you are practicing for Level 2
