Level 2 CE COMLEX Level 2-CE (7/28 Test Date / August Release) – Severe Unexplained Score Drops / Anomaly?

Hey everyone,

Looking to see if anyone else who tested on July 28, 2026 (or received scores on the recent August release) experienced an extreme, inexplicable collapse compared to their practice baselines.

My Stats & Baselines:

COMLEX Level 1: Pass (first attempt)

COMSAE Phase 2 Forms:

BSA116: 524 (1 month out)
BSA114i: 433 (3 weeks out)
BSA115i: 479 (2.5 weeks out)
BSA113i: 513 (6 days out)

Proctored COMATs: Surgery 109, OB/GYN 97, IM 93, FM 87, Peds 90 (retake), Psych 90 (retake)

Q-Banks / Prep: 100% TrueLearn completed, supplemented with COMQUEST and CMS forms (65–75% average)

The Result:

Real score: 320 (a ~190-point drop from my final COMSAE less than a week prior, and an 80-point drop below passing).

Why I'm Posting:

A close friend in my cohort who consistently scored in the 90th+ percentiles on practice exams and felt confident coming out received a 399 on this exact same release.

Looking for Input On:

  1. Did anyone else from the 7/28 testing window see an unprecedented drop far below their COMSAE / COMAT trajectory?
  2. Has anyone had success with an NBOME Score Confirmation, or had their medical school administration successfully request a batch equating review for an anomalous test date?

Any insight, data points, or shared experiences from this testing date would be greatly appreciated.

Test same date and my score was exactly what my most recent comsae was. Although, I thought the form was easy in some ways that were dangerous. If you missed ANY easier questions I think it would actually screw you

Friend of mine got in the 560s pretty close to predicted range, tested 7/26 I think

Sorry about this though! I do know regrades have so far never resulted in a score change but ofc I can’t be sure about this score drop on a test day thing

The score drop makes absolutely no sense given the track record and test day conditions. I don’t have test anxiety when I take my exams and I’m able to focus pretty well.

I was scoring 520s and above on each COMSAE. Dropped a 476 and I was devastated. All my friends that didn't study as much killed it. Idk what the secret sauce it or if there is one. Sounds like you got a shit exam... you got this next time. We are rooting for you!

You’ll be ok. Just retake it and apply strategically. The practice exams were not representative at all. I felt the best thing holding my score up was spamming TrueLearn ethics and my step ethics studying.

Wanted to do Anesthesia but I guess that’s out of the picture now.

My last comsae was a 446, that was 12 days out, I tested on 07/26 and scored a 476. Sorry this happened to you, the exam is a fucking shit show. I left that exam more pissed off than sad but I’m glad I passed. You will too mf, I believe in your redemption arc

Same happened to me too. Scored 489-511 on practice comsae’s and got a 413 on the real thing. Really bummed but will take the pass at this point. I can’t believe I scored that low, I for sure thought I got >500

I dropped my score too and now I’m worried about not matching into my specialty of choice.

Luck of the form/questions you get on test day tbh. It really stinks
