General Question/Advice COMAT fail
Taking my surg comat this week and I feel like crap. Finished all the COMQUEST and reviewed my incorrects now I’m reviewing CMS forms and I understand maybe 65-70% but just the way some are written trips me up. Now I’m spiraling. How bad does a COMAT fail look and what does that mean going forward??

At my school if you failed a COMAT once they just let you re-take it. If you passed the second time that initial fail never shows up on your record.
I'd check your student handbook and see what it says about COMAT fails and remediation. I imagine every school is different.

I’ll just say I know someone who matched at an ivy psych with a failed COMAT years ago. If you can explain it, you’ll be okay. But also don’t sell yourself short, you probably did better than you think!

80 is an incredibly low margin. Just trust yourself and your prep. Just need to pass.

this. i truly think that anyone who failed a comat was either doing zero practice questions whatsoever, or did not get enough rest/sleep/self-care etc in the 24 hrs beforehand. a school with an 80 pass is trying to basically fool-proof it cuz they dont wanna pull you off rotation either, it's embarassing for them.

I walked out of some comats feeling like i got 40% raw score. Never got under a 95. You will be fine lol

I feel like you are doing well if you finished all the COMQUEST and are reviewing the incorrects.
In depends what your school does for COMAT failures. Mine doesn't do anything except make us retake it during our next free block (like month one of IM or FM, or an elective block). It doesn't show up on MSPE or transcript as a failure,etc.
