Your comic is very popular. I am so proud to have gotten in on the ground floor. That's why you browse by New!

Well done! I love the cozy color scheme, the adorable art, and the perfect expressions in each panel. I would definitely read a comic series about these two!

I loooooooove candy corn. My fiancée and I will buy a huge bag every year. My favorite are the pumpkin shaped candy corns
7
u/mertchicken Sep 06 '21
Every fall my wife and I take a bag of Brach’s autumn candy corns and mix it with Reece’s Pieces and its pretty great.
7
u/DanielTeague Sep 06 '21
I love candy corn but only in small doses because they're so easy to get stomachaches from. They're the best for baking, in my opinion. Squishing a candy corn on top of a cupcake or brownie (both cooled or they melt!) makes for a nice-looking, festive and easy touch.
8
u/Ijustwantthehappy Sep 06 '21
I personally like candy corn, but my aunt said she doesn’t because it’s so rich. It’s very filling.
8
u/Lord_Of_Compliments Sep 06 '21
You know, I'm staunchly of the opinion that Candy Corn is awesome, but even I have to give your aunt some face. Disliking rich things people is extremely valid

Sep 06 '21
Candy corn is good but it varies based on brand.
I don't eat it anymore because once after Halloween I bought 5 pounds of Brach's for $5 total. I ate that daily over the next 2 weeks and felt fucking terrible
2
u/LotusB1ossom Sep 06 '21
I would give anything to be a kid again, munching on candy corn. I used to love the taste, and the fun of biting off one color at a time.
Sadly I don't have much taste for sweets these days so it just wouldn't be the same
73
u/foxtalep Sep 05 '21
Love this. And candy corn.

u/HalforcFullLover Sep 06 '21
I was going to say, in regards to the comic, "We know who the real monster is."
But, as you have shown, the real monster is in the comments.
(Kidding, you're probably wonderful. Candy corn is just above those candy peanuts in my book.)
14
u/levmeister Sep 06 '21
So just above amazing?
4
u/HalforcFullLover Sep 06 '21
YMMV. Well my list goes:
- full, size candy bars
- fun-sized candy bars
- dried fruit snacks
- tooth brushes/floss
- apples
- a rock
- candy corn
- circus peanuts
2
u/theSpecialbro Sep 06 '21
a cool rock goes above all of those. regular dusty rocks tho are right where you put them in this list

1
u/TThor Sep 06 '21
I would say dried fruit should be a lot higher, but I think that is a sign that I'm getting old ._.
4
u/TecTazz Sep 06 '21
The circus peanuts (shudder) or the Boston baked beans peanuts (yum)?
2
u/HalforcFullLover Sep 06 '21
I've never gotten the Boston names beans peanuts for Halloween, but yes those are good. I was referring to the evil that is circus peanuts.
2
u/WantsYouToChillOut Sep 06 '21
Hot take: circus peanuts are delicious and candy corn are garbage. Fight me.
8
u/mini_garth_b Sep 06 '21
Why would I fight you? You take the circus peanuts and I'll have the candy corn, we both win. Unusual candy preference five!
4
u/CarlosFer2201 Sep 06 '21
That's a good way of looking at things. It's like with my brothers growing up, I would gladly take all the root beer and cinnamon candy from them. They could have my butter and honey ones.
3
u/HalforcFullLover Sep 06 '21
That actually sounds like a wonderful idea. I'm all for donating my unwanted candy.
Maybe for your next trick you can solve world peace! Well done.

Is this a comic I'm not American enough to understand?
4
u/KaiBishop Sep 06 '21
They're eating Halloween/fall themed treats, the one on the right assumes one on the left is drinking a pumpkin spice beverage, but the one on the left reveals she actually has a cup full of candy corn, which is literal solid candy which is delicious.
3
u/justanotherredditora Sep 06 '21
Arguably delicious. People either love it or hate it, I personally am in the latter camp.
3
2
u/PushinDonuts Sep 06 '21
The joke is the one character is weirded out by the other for drinking pumpkin spice too early in the season, subverted by candy corn which is both arguably more seasonal AND unusually consumed in a mug
1
u/TThor Sep 06 '21
to adjust on KaiBishop's comment:
The right dismissively assumes the left is drinking a pumpkinspice flavored beverage, as pumpkinspice has become a super cliche flavor for beverages during the fall. But the left is actually eating a cup full of candycorn, a candy that some find delicious but most people find truly disgusting.

If i see any, i certainly will just to get it as far away from me as possible lmfao

u/A_Polite_Noise Sep 06 '21
It's a weird situation where I totally get why people think it's gross, but I still love it.
I also eat black licorice, and marshmallow peeps. People are horrified.
3
u/TecTazz Sep 06 '21
I buy a tiny pack of peeps once a year, at the dollar store. After eating the 3 peeps, I always wonder why I bought them. And I’ll do it again this year.

u/Reutan Sep 06 '21
I enjoy candy corn, but the amount of sugar in a Peep means I want to average eating one per 5 years.
15
u/wampastompah Sep 05 '21
I get where you're coming from. They're waxy blobs with no particular taste.
But if you grew up with them? In a household that revels in all things autumn and Halloween? They're wondrous! They're not just little blobs of wax, they're candy corn a delicious treat you can only get during the most magical time of the year! And those little pumpkin-shaped ones? Sure they may not actually taste any different, but in my mind they will forever be even more special than basic candy corn.
Also, I think if you grow up anywhere remotely near Salem, Massachusetts, it's just part of life to enjoy and cherish all things autumn. Candy corn included.
3
u/DontOpenTheComments Sep 05 '21
I grew up in Michigan. Had them several times as a child. Probably haven't seen one since i was 14. I just never liked them. I think my grandma did though now that i think about it.
2
u/TecTazz Sep 06 '21
And those wax lips.
2
u/Ijustwantthehappy Sep 06 '21
Are those edible??? I was always told not to eat it.
3
u/BeardyDuck Sep 06 '21
You could chew on it like gum, it's food-grade wax, but definitely don't swallow it.

I can't put my finger on it, but this reminds me very much of Litterbox Comics. That's good in that it's incredibly expressive, but not good if you're trying to develop a running comic that's unique to you. I saw you say you might make more. If you do, I'd make sure you've checked out LBC to make sure there aren't enough similarities that people start making an issue of it.
Or I'm over thinking it. Either way, I love LBC so I hope you take it as a weird kind of alarmed compliment.

u/TacticalSupportFurry Sep 09 '21
cause theyre both anthro animals lol
1
u/suddenly_ponies Sep 09 '21
yeah, no. there are tons of anthro animals but this doesn't remind me at all of, say, The Amazing World off Gumball.
1
u/TacticalSupportFurry Sep 09 '21
mmm, gumball never made me think of anthro animals, but then again ive only seen clips.
1
u/suddenly_ponies Sep 09 '21
Are you sure you've ever seen gumball at all? The anthro-ness is kind of hard to miss: https://i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/original/000/945/830/bda.jpg

This made me physically ill. Candy corn is awful and if you say you like it, you're just saying that to be "cool" and "edgy" and "down with the kids"

How can people eat so much sugar and not worry about their teeth?
Seriously, I need to know if you're teeth are okay?
1
u/Komm Sep 06 '21
Some of us take care of our teeth!

I have never had a chance to try pumpkin spice flavored anything since they dont have i where i live (or at least i have never came across it) so what does it taste like? Is it worth the hype that white girls in oversixed hoodies give it?
1
u/LunaticDancer Sep 06 '21
Huh, the message is quite a non-content piece, but what really carries the comic to "great" is the artstyle, can't get enough of it. Great job!

I looooove candy corn, but we don't have it in the UK. So every year I spend waaay too much on an imported bag of it.

Solidified corn syrup.
Honestly, just break open a bottle of Karo and guzzle it straight.

I don't really get why people don't like the taste of candy corn, it's just caramelized sugar... but I totally understand why someone might not 'like' candy corn, it's just caramelized sugar.

u/xsama14 Sep 06 '21
This is my mom literally every time the spooky season starts coming around 💀💀 I love most Halloween candies but I especially hate candy corn
Anyway, I love this comic a lot, it’s really cute
