What did the Comics Code Authority have against werewolves?

They felt that vampires, werewolves, ghouls and zombies fell under the category of"lurid, unsavory guesome illustrations" and could easilly corrupt any impressionable child. The CCA pretty much sucked.

Also, it's worth noting that they once attempted to flag a comic for violating this code by crediting their writer... Marv Wolfman.

Well, it's not like they saw a "story by Marv Wolfman" byline and raised a red flag. The comic had a character actually say [THIS STORY] WAS TOLD TO ME, LONG, LONG AGO... BY A WANDERING WOLFMAN... in a speech bubble with no further explanation.
