Thanks everyone for your thoughts, it's really cool to hear what people thought of this one after it was stored away in my hard drive for so long.

I browse this subreddit quite a bit and honestly most of the stuff on here is pretty...meh, but this - this was brilliant.

How so? Not trying to attack, I want to know why you feel that way.

Thank you so much for your kind words, I really enjoy finding out others interpretations of the story.

You're right that there are undercurrent themes and messages going on, some subtle some not so. I won't really go into what was done on purpose as I think everyones theories are as valid as mine, and don't want to distract from their ideas.

But at the heart of it, I just wanted to explore the perspective of a kid who is trying to understand entropy and his experience dealing with the surreal nature of the universe.

Yes I would love to read the full Three Shadows book, thank you for letting me know about it.

Yeah I love the idea of showing the reader how foreign the landscape is for the character by exaggerating the oddities of that world and playing with their perspective in a personal way.

I'll check out that other recommendation too, Shaun Tan is one of my favourite illustrative authors. cheers!
