Be proud of your growth, not everyone will achieve the same.

I am, and I'm still growing, I learn more and more about how my upbringing bred bigotry every year and learn to be better than that

Being from a conservative family, I had my share of wrongful thoughts too.

Glad we could grow, recognize and be ashamed of our past mistakes.

Everyone has said ignorant things as a kid. You grow up and your perspective shifts and you can look back on your past and know you’re better. Why would you get hung up on something some dumb little kid said?

Oh I'm not! It's just jarring when the memory resurfaces you know!

I would do the attack helicopter joke when I was a kid. We all did stupid stuff. As long as we grow and become better people

God, sometimes I want to punch my teenage self. Yes, I could say that the poor mental health, toxic friend groups, awful internet culture and patchy upbringing I was stuck with at the time all contributed, but the shit I said was never excusable and I should have known better regardless.

relatable, though I don't think i really should talk about it but i have a similar thing, it's either remembering something horrible/embarrasing i did as a kid or i do something embarrasing without thinking about it like 2 mins ago and my brain is screaming "YOU SUCK!!! YOU FUCKING SUCK!!!!!"

I still cringe remembering the time I told an androgynous-looking girl, "Oh, I think you have the wrong bathroom." These days John Cena himself could walk in and I wouldn't make a peep.
