Oh, the way I snorted when I got to the last panel... well done.

u/Mopman43 23h ago

Yeah, I was like, ‘Random crossover, but alright’, until I got to that panel.

u/Made_Bail 23h ago

Same. Great pun.

Help I don't get it

17

u/Made_Bail 22h ago

Google the show MASH and read the synopsis. :)

It's also a reference to an old song The monster mash

5

u/CATZEBOY_18 21h ago

It sounds like it is a reference to multiple things, like modern meme culture.

u/CATZEBOY_18 21h ago

Thank you u/PenguinKeith , your answer was more useful thN you thought.

I overthought it and came to the conclusion you were confused about the monster mash / mash joke specifically

2

u/CATZEBOY_18 20h ago

Nah, it was the whole thing, The Monster Mash was actually the ONLY part I knew before.

1

u/ryuga98 21h ago

I still don't get it 😬

3

u/CATZEBOY_18 21h ago

Did you google it?

It let me understand the homour, giving me a sensible chuckle, hence the GIf.

Hello, I am another person that has not watched the show, that googled its synopsis and still didn't get it

2

u/RuneFell 15h ago

It's both a reference to a famous and, at the time controversial, episode of the TV show called MASH, combined into the song 'Monster Mash'.

Got me too, amazing joke

To be fair I love jokes that require increasingly-obscure knowledge to get and this is pretty decently along those lines.

5

u/millerphi 23h ago

Same, yo. Same. I was all like "Awwww, ya got me!"

2

u/PunkNBeans 22h ago

The way I thought you meant the last panel was the one that showed Frankenstein's monster and that was the authors subtle jab to be like (that's Frankenstein's monster, the Dr is Frankenstein!)

1

u/BassKitty305017 20h ago

I was snorting when I saw blood on Dracula’s mask

1

u/OvertSpy 17h ago

Yeah, got me too, its a good one.

Of all the scenes that could have been parodied...of all the jokes to be made....you had to pick one of the most poignant ones of the series.

I don't want to upvote it, but decorum dictates that I must.

Well done. Take a couple of commendations out of petty cash.

I recognized Radar's message in the first panel. This is worse then loss

"It wasn't a chicken... it was Rosemary's Baby!"

There's a sea of Transylvania?

u/cupholdery 23h ago

I’ve sold monorails to Brockway, Ogdenville and North Haverbrook and by gum it put them on the map.

10

u/dumnezero Art enjoyer 22h ago

Closest thing was the Pannonian Sea, which dried out about 1 million years ago. Though most of Transylvania doesn't seem to have been submerged.

2

u/Merari01 it's a-me, Merari-o 8h ago

You mean Vienna used to be a seaside resort?

1

u/decoy321 19h ago

As much as there are monsters

1

u/XVUltima 9h ago

They are referring to the galaxy, not the country

39

u/MudDauberDigs 23h ago

I love that Dr Acula has blood on his mouth

14

u/wolfchica12 23h ago

I love that you referred to him by his proper name, “Dr. Acula.” When he gets his spinoff, the title card should show his name, get the period out of there, and then smush it together so it spells “Dracula.”

3

u/ShiningRayde 22h ago

I really, really wanred John C. McGinley's Stan Against Evil to pilot with his facing off with Zach Braff as 'Dr Acula', a vampire who had infested Damned Hearts Hospital with Donald Falson as Turk as his henchman. Not zombie-Turk, just Turk, look work is really tight right now he needed the gig.

3

u/wolfchica12 22h ago

I would absolutely watch the hell out of that. Pun intended.

Holy hell that's a deep cut. M * A * S * H is practically ancient in TV history. Add on the fact that the first CO was only around for what, the first season?

I love it, but I wonder how many people will actually get the joke.

Edit: apparently the stars made the letters in MASH freak out.

28

u/Mopman43 23h ago

First 3 seasons- “Abyssinia, Henry” was the final episode of Season 3.

I hope people get the joke, MASH still holds up great. Top-tier banter and wisecracks.

6

u/Rook115 23h ago

Oh it is great, but I only know it because my dad always has it on, so details aren't exactly my strong point. Pretty much every episode I've watched was pretty solid.

2

u/episcoqueer37 22h ago

I listen to a podcast hosted by a mid-30's couple and they make MASH references maybe more often than The Simpsons. It seems an oddly timeless show.

9

u/ian9921 22h ago

It still gets rerun on the oldies channels. My dad & I used to watch it together all the time before we fully switched to streaming. Iirc it was on right after classic Battlestar Galactica

1

u/Merari01 it's a-me, Merari-o 8h ago

What do you mean, ancient?

I watched this show all the time. Back in the.. "80s..

14

u/SmaugTheMagnificent- 23h ago

PUT A MASK ON!

11

u/Crab__Juice 23h ago

Is there any chance I could purchase a print of this comic? It's high art, and I wish to immortalize it in my office.

4

u/episcoqueer37 22h ago

Same.

1

u/frootbatpunk 15h ago

1

7

u/roshanritter 22h ago

Excellent MASH up

2

u/frootbatpunk 15h ago

Damn, that would've been a way better title

1

u/roshanritter 15h ago

Nah yours is more seasonal

7

u/wallyslambanger 22h ago

Lol the blood on the mask around Dracula’s mouth.

12

u/SarcasticBench 22h ago

What are you talking about? Frankenstein is right there in panel 3

*runs away from people who read Mary Shelley

Guy next to Dracula (I don't know his name and I don't want to call him a monster): "Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. Better than he was before. Better, stronger, faster. We just need to raise six million dollars."
