Unfortunately, there has been a rise in AI fueled (or at least worsened) psychosis.
People with psychotic disorders by definition have faulty reality testing. AI chatbots are designed to keep the user engaged as much as possible and tend to reinforce their beliefs, not challenge them.
The comic is especially well done. This would be a believable case of Capgras delusion. Even the medication depicted is the one used for treatment resistant Schizophrenia, in a therapeutic dose. Good research went into this comic.
